Black Tone Dye

$37.99

Black Tone Dye blends with Humimic gelatin to create opaque training models that hide internal targets. Ideal for advanced ultrasound-guided procedures.

Description

Build opaque models that test real-world skills.

Clear phantoms make target detection too easy. Black Tone Dye gives your model an opaque finish, concealing internal features and pushing learners to refine their scanning and localization skills—ideal for ultrasound-guided procedures.

This highly concentrated formula mixes smoothly into clear Humimic gels, including those colored with tan dye for layered tones. It maintains the gel’s texture, acoustic properties, and shelf life, ensuring consistent performance.

As with all Humimic products, this dye works with our 100% synthetic medical gelatin, which is moldable, reusable, and stable at high temperatures. Always follow safety guidelines when melting gelatin, and know what temperature gelatin melts to prevent burns and preserve product quality.

Features

  • Opaque Finish – Hides internal targets for advanced practice
  • Ultrasound-Compatible – Maintains imaging clarity while increasing difficulty
  • Customizable Tones – Mix with tan dye for layered or varied shading
  • Cost-Efficient – One bottle colors multiple gel batches
  • Safe and Reliable – Compatible with all Humimic synthetic medical gelatins

Specifications

  • Volume: 2 oz high-concentration dye
  • Use Cases: Ultrasound-guided training, procedural simulation, target localization
  • Compatibility: All Humimic gels and dyes, including tan dye
  • Mixing Tip: Add during the melting process, below the temp gelatin melts, to avoid damaging the gel
  • Safety Note: Do not handle hot gel. Avoid exceeding 250 ºF (121 ºC) to prevent combustion.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  1. Does this dye change the gel’s performance?
No. It only changes the color, leaving the texture and imaging properties the same.
  2. Can I mix it with tan dye?
Yes. Combining with tan dye creates realistic layered effects for complex phantoms.
  3. How much will one bottle cover?
It can color multiple batches, depending on the desired opacity.
  4. What temp does gelatin melt?
Humimic’s synthetic gelatin melts at up to 190°F (88°C). Avoid overheating to maintain quality.
  5. Is it reusable after coloring?
Yes. The tinted gelatin can be melted and reused as long as it remains clean.
