Product Description

Standard tissue realism with moderate resistance.

Humimic SimuGel™ #1 delivers validated performance with moderate resistance—perfect for training programs that need authentic dense muscle feel without the highest firmness level. It replicates skeletal muscle and mildly fibrotic tissue, giving students and R&D teams the realistic push-through feedback they need for confident skill development.

SimuGel™ is engineered to maintain stable performance across repeated sessions. Every batch comes with certified testing results: Young’s Modulus of 0.34 MPa, needle resistance of 0.55 N, and firmness of 401 g. Because it’s synthetic rather than organic, you won’t deal with batch-to-batch variation, degradation over time, or refrigeration requirements.

Create custom training blocks by heating and molding to your specifications. Insert embedded components for complex models. When training wear becomes visible, reheat the material to restore its original properties. The gel remains shelf-stable, odor-free, and ready for immediate use.

Why educators and developers choose SimuGel #1:

  • For Procedural Training– Students build suturing, cutting, and catheter placement skills on material that mimics dense muscle tissue, developing proper technique in controlled settings.
  • For Ultrasound Imaging– Moderate resistance combined with crystal clarity makes this formulation excellent for teaching probe manipulation and vascular access visualization.
  • For Device Testing– Medical device teams conduct catheter and surgical instrument validation with documented mechanical properties that support regulatory requirements.

Technical Note: Young’s Modulus quantifies the compression force required to deform a material. At 0.34 MPa, SimuGel #1 matches the mechanical behavior of dense skeletal muscle and tissues with mild fibrosis. This specification ensures training accuracy backed by objective measurement, not subjective approximation.

All certified values represent testing performed on 1 lb blocks maintained at approximately 70–72°F. Performance characteristics may shift depending on remolding methods, environmental conditions, and accumulated usage.

What is SimuGel #1 used for?
+

A. All-purpose tissue simulation for procedures requiring moderate resistance—including suturing, cutting, ultrasound imaging, and catheter placement on dense muscle tissue.

How does SimuGel #1 compare to Gel 0?
+

Gel 1 offers slightly less resistance (0.34 MPa vs 0.63 MPa), making it ideal for dense muscle simulation rather than composite multi-layer tissue.

Can SimuGel #1 be reused?
+

Yes. It maintains performance through dozens of punctures. When surface wear appears, simply remelt and remold.

Can I add color to SimuGel #1?
+

Yes. Compatible with Humimic tissue dyes, including tan dye for skin-tone customization.

Is it safe for classroom use?
+

Yes. It’s odorless, non-toxic, and stable at room temperature.

Is it compatible with ultrasound and imaging?
+

Yes. Works with linear ultrasound probes and provides clear contrast for CT and MRI training simulations.
