HM4.0 Reusable 4 Vessel Ultrasound Training Model is a full ultrasound training block model giving you up to three thousand sticks, making this the most cost-effective phantom on the market. It is a reusable, lightweight and economical training aid that will help train many clinicians and trainees in their clinical practice. With the use of this phantom clinicians may train and develop skills to perform ultrasound-guided vascular and arterial interventions. With a consistency that resembles that of human soft tissue, this phantom will be one of the most advanced and human-like simulators you can have at your establishment. Our HM4.0 Phantom will allow clinicians to perform sonographic procedures and to acquire sonographic images of blood vessels, providing hands-on training to clinical trainees at a reasonable cost. By repetitively training on these phantoms, clinicians are able to develop psychomotor skills of guiding the needles to the simulated vessels under ultrasound. The ultrasound imaging skills that can be acquired using our HM4.0 Phantom are:
- Using ultrasound system controls
- Transducer positioning and movement
- Recognition of vessels in soft tissue
- Using ultrasound to target the vessels for ultrasound guided vascular access procedures
The phantom contains four simulated blood vessels of varying diameter and depth, allowing trainees to recognize and locate the correct needle position. Once a trainee correctly introduces the needle to the targeted vessel, the positive fluid flow will give positive feedback showing that they have successfully completed the intervention.
As with other Humimic ultrasound training models, this phantom will perform well under any ultrasound imaging system that is configured with the appropriate transducer. The recommended ultrasound transducer for our model is the high-frequency linear array ultrasound probe 5.0 – 12 MHz. As Humimic always cares about the highest quality and usability, we can assure you that this phantom will not require replacing disposable parts after each practice. This phantom is remoldable up to 3 times under heat, which allows you to recreate your phantom block up to 3 times, while each created phantom can be used up to thousands of training times.
While clear phantoms offer a superior visual appearance to teach important anatomical concepts they do have a darker appearance due to lack of additive simulating human tissue on ultrasound. To use them with ultrasound imaging devices the gain function will need to be increased to 80-90%. Colorized phantoms offer superior ultrasound appearance and are closer matched to human tissue density and may only require a 60-70% adjustment on the gain function.
